About Teresa Franz, LCSW

I understand what it’s like to appear confident and capable on the outside while quietly feeling overwhelmed on the inside. As a high-achieving woman, you may juggle career, family, and countless responsibilities, yet still feel a deep undercurrent of self-doubt. You might find yourself saying “yes” when you want to say “no,” second-guessing your decisions, or feeling that no matter what you accomplish, it’s never quite enough.

My passion is helping women like you break free from the exhausting cycle of people-pleasing, perfectionism, and overcommitment. I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can exhale, explore what’s holding you back, and begin to reconnect with your authentic self. My approach is warm, relational, and rooted in respect for your story. You will be seen, heard, and deeply understood here.

Professional background

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than a decade of experience helping individuals move through pain toward lasting change. Over the years, I’ve worked in diverse settings, from school-based counseling and telehealth to working with veterans, trauma survivors, and women navigating major life transitions. My work has been shaped by experiences with individuals facing PTSD, complex trauma (cPTSD), perinatal and postpartum challenges, grief, and relational struggles.

Before opening Hope Tribe Counseling in Round Rock, Texas, I worked as a therapist with My Counselor Online, provided mental health support in schools, and served as a field instructor for social work interns. I’ve facilitated grief counseling at Camp Braveheart, supported juvenile offenders through Jail to Jobs, and offered crisis counseling after community tragedies. I have also taught parenting classes and workshops at schools and organizations throughout Central Texas. These experiences have strengthened my belief that healing happens in the context of safe, supportive relationships.

Therapy tailored to your needs

My work is grounded in the science of interpersonal neurobiology and attachment theory. This means we focus not just on talking about problems, but on actively reshaping how your brain and body respond to stress, relationships, and life’s challenges. Sessions are highly interactive and experiential. You will learn practical skills, practice boundary-setting, and explore somatic awareness to reconnect with your body’s wisdom.

I draw from a rich blend of therapeutic modalities, including AEDP, attachment-based therapy, EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy, CBT, CPT, somatic work, and mindfulness-based interventions. I also integrate a faith-informed perspective for those who desire it, helping clients align their healing journey with their spiritual values.

If you’ve been to therapy before and left feeling like nothing really changed, you’re not alone. I take a different approach — one that’s focused on helping you make meaningful, lasting progress, not just to feel better in the moment. Together, we will identify old patterns that no longer serve you, understand their origins, and replace them with healthier, life-giving ways of being.

In our work, you can:

  • Learn to trust yourself and your intuition
  • Set and maintain healthy boundaries without guilt
  • Overcome decision fatigue and reclaim your time
  • Let go of the need to please everyone
  • Build self-acceptance and self-love
  • Live in alignment with your deepest values and authentic self

You don’t have to carry the weight of perfectionism, self-doubt, and overcommitment any longer. There is another way — one that feels freer, lighter, and more connected to who you truly are.
